The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that Egypt has accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council and has begun taking the necessary legal and constitutional steps in this regard.

In a statement, the ministry renewed its appreciation for the leadership of President Donald Trump and his commitment to ending the war in Gaza and to establishing security, peace, and stability in the Middle East.
Egypt also expressed its support for the mission of the Peace Council within the framework of the second phase of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2803.
The statement affirmed that Egypt will continue its efforts, in coordination with the United States and partners, to ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire, the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance, the deployment of the international stabilization force, the empowerment of the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip to carry out its duties, and the launch of early recovery projects throughout the Strip in preparation for reconstruction. It also emphasized advancing a path toward achieving a just and lasting peace and fulfilling the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, paving the way for security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.
