The remaining crew members are receiving assistance from the Omani Coast Guard.

The agency said no environmental impact had been reported in connection with the incident, while authorities continue to investigate.

The incident comes as shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely disrupted, with the number of vessels transiting the waterway still in the single digits, compared with more than 130 vessels that crossed the strait each day before the war.

Preliminary shipping data showed on Tuesday that vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz increased slightly on Monday compared with levels at the beginning of the week, amid stalled talks aimed at ending the war between the United States and Iran.

Vessel-tracking data from Kpler showed that six vessels carrying commodities transited the strait on Monday three departing the Gulf and three heading into it compared with a 10-day average of 11 vessels.

Three vessels crossed the strait on Saturday, while two passed through on Sunday. No very large crude carriers or liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers transited the strait.

Some vessels may pass through the strait with their automatic identification system (AIS) transponders switched off and therefore are not included in these figures.

The data also showed that the large gas carrier Xavia entered the strait via the Iranian route while carrying no cargo, Vessels of this type are typically used to transport liquefied petroleum gases such as propane and butane.
