The World Bank has approved a $3.5 million grant to prepare for a digital transformation project across Jordan’s public schools. The funds will support a comprehensive assessment of digital infrastructure, connectivity, and hardware readiness across approximately 3,500 public schools nationwide.

The preparatory phase includes testing educational devices—such as Chromebooks—and evaluating internet connectivity across urban, semi-urban, and rural areas. Additionally, the initiative aims to establish an EdTech and AI Innovation Center in collaboration with local universities and the private sector to develop Arabic-language digital content and support teacher professional development.
