According to a statement by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on Saturday, new destinations saw significant demand. Iraq Al-Amir attracted 881 participants, while Umm ar-Rasas saw 400. In overnight programs, Petra recorded 950 participants, Wadi Rum 400, and Aqaba 371, in addition to 100 participants via direct booking using private vehicles.
The remaining participants were distributed among various tourist destinations across the Kingdom’s governorates, particularly Ajloun, Umm Qais, Pella (Tabaqat Fahl), the Baptism Site, Jerash, and Rihab, reflecting the diversity of Jordan's tourism product and its ability to attract different segments of society.
The Ministry explained that the "Urdunnan Jannah" program is part of government measures aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and boosting domestic tourism. This contributes to supporting and empowering local communities and stimulating economic activities within them. Last week, the Cabinet decided to extend the exemption of entry fees for archaeological sites within the program and to continue covering trip costs until December 31.
The Ministry added: "The program emphasizes a comprehensive approach to revitalizing the tourism sector by involving all its components, including travel agencies, tourist transport, restaurants, hotels, camps, and tour guides. This broadens the economic impact and enhances local development across various regions of the Kingdom."
