The Traffic Department of the Public Security Directorate announced that, in cooperation with the Jordan Marathon Association “Run Jordan,” and in conjunction with the launch of the Amman Marathon by Bupa, a traffic closure and diversion plan will be implemented in the capital, Amman, this coming Friday.

According to the announcement, the closures will be as follows:
Full closure of the road extending from the Al-Mahatta Complex through Al-Jaish Street in both directions, the Hashemite Square, Quraish Street, and Ali Bin Abi Talib Street up to Al-Muhajireen traffic lights, passing through Omar Matar Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashimi Street. These closures will be in effect from 12:00 midnight until 12:00 noon, along the routes of the 42 km (individual/relay) and 21 km races.
Full closure of Queen Alia Street between the Sports City Circle and Interior Ministry Circle starting at 6:00 a.m., as well as Queen Noor Street between the Interior Ministry Circle and the Fourth Circle starting at 7:00 a.m.
Full closure of Aqaba Bin Nafi Street and Princess Basma Street from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, as part of the 10 km race route, which begins at 9:00 a.m.
The Traffic Department confirmed that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure smooth traffic flow and to provide alternative routes that facilitate access to downtown Amman and western areas of the capital. It also noted that its personnel will be deployed along the race routes to assist and guide road users and to ensure compliance with traffic signals and instructions.
