The Financial and Economic Committee of the Senate, chaired by Senator Dr. Rajai Muasher, held a meeting on Wednesday with the Government’s Economic Team to review executive measures taken in light of current regional developments.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Economic Team Muhannad Shehadeh, Minister of Transport Dr. Nidal Katamine, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah, Minister of Energy and Mineral Wealth Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Finance Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Shibli, and Minister of Tourism Dr. Imad Hijazin.
Dr. Muasher stated that the session aimed to review government decisions made to address present challenges, their objectives, and their economic impact, as well as to examine contingency plans designed to ensure the sustainability of supply chains.
For its part, the Economic Ministerial Team presented an overview of key decisions and measures targeting sectors affected by regional circumstances, outlining alternative plans developed to align with ongoing developments.
The ministers emphasized that the Jordanian economy is resilient and well-accustomed to managing crises, noting that these measures aim to mitigate the impact on various economic sectors.
They further explained that the package of decisions was implemented to protect citizens, ensure the smooth flow of goods through supply chain sustainability, and maintain energy security. They also highlighted the ongoing coordination built on a positive partnership with the private sector, alongside active market monitoring and regulatory measures.
The Senators expressed their satisfaction with the government's proactive steps to protect citizens and sustain supply chains, welcoming the rapid response and the formulation of alternative plans amidst the evolving regional situation.
