The association stated that the roads along the route from the New Raghdan Complex, passing through Al-Jaish Street (both directions), Hashemite Square, Quraish Street, and Ali Bin Abi Taleb Street up to Al-Muhajireen traffic lights, including Omar Matr Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashimi Street, will be closed from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM, covering the 42 km (individual/relay) and 21 km race routes.
Additionally, Queen Alia Street between Sports City Roundabout and Interior Roundabout will be fully closed, along with Queen Noor Street between Interior Roundabout and Fourth Roundabout.
The closures will also include Uqba Bin Nafe’ Street and Princess Basma Street entirely up to Hashemite Square from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, covering the 10 km race route, which starts at 9:00 AM.
The association emphasized that these measures are implemented in full coordination with the Traffic Department to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide alternative routes to facilitate access to downtown Amman and western areas. Public security personnel will be deployed along the race routes to assist drivers, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to traffic signals and instructions.
All arrangements for the traffic plan have been finalized, with full public safety measures and alternative routes in place to support the smooth launch of the Brumin Amman Marathon, which brings together elite local and international runners across various age categories.
Lina Al-Karad, Director General of the Jordanian Marathon Association, highlighted that the comprehensive coordination with the Public Security Directorate reflects a shared commitment to organizing the marathon to the highest standards, ensuring the safety of both participants and the public while facilitating traffic throughout the capital.
Al-Karad added that the Brumin Amman Marathon has become an annual national sporting event, enhancing Jordan’s image as a premier sports and tourism destination and promoting values of sportsmanship, healthy living, and teamwork across all segments of society.
