AMMAN — The epidemiological situation in the Kingdom is still “reassuring”, said Bassam Hijjawi, a member of the Epidemiological Committee Thursday, according to Al Ghad.اضافة اعلان

He explained in statements to "Hayat FM" radio that the number of COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital are still few.

Hijjawi said that 90 percent of patients that go into hospitals are not vaccinated, noting that only 118 cases were admitted to hospitals Wednesday.
He said that infections in schools, compared to the number of students, are not that high.

Commenting on the decisions of the Ministry of Interior to ban condolence receptions and issuing licenses to hold weddings, were important and came at the right time.

Hijjawi called for granting licenses to all events and activities, on condition that they are monitored.

He stressed that returning to lockdowns is no longer as feasible as it was in the past, indicating that any slackening in monitoring will impact the epidemiological situation.
