Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Tuesday inaugurated the fourth edition of Amman Design Week at the Ras Al Ain Hangar in Amman, ahead of the event opening its doors to visitors for two weeks from Friday, October 2, through October 17.
The fourth edition of Amman Design Week, launched in 2016 at the initiative of Queen Rania, is being held across five main locations: Ras Al Ain, Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Jabal Amman, Iraq Al Amir, and Aqaba Governorate. The free program features exhibitions, workshops, discussions, and a range of cultural initiatives.
Queen Rania toured the hangar accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II, members of the Royal Family, and guests. In the presence of Amman Design Week co-directors Sarah Hijazin and Bashar Al-Tabbaa, she viewed a selection of creative works and designs by designers and artists from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, India, and Armenia.
The 2026 edition of Amman Design Week is organized in partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality under the theme “Accumulations.” It brings together 220 designers, makers, and innovators from Jordan, the region, and around the world, showcasing their creative collections and works across 59 participating spaces through 204 events.
This year’s edition draws its themes from the details of everyday life and the influence of place, materials, and memory in shaping the world around us. It explores how design is formed and evolves over time, and how it is shaped by inherited knowledge as well as the material, social, and environmental processes within which it emerges.
