The Parliamentary Labor, Social Development, and Population Committee is scheduled to discuss on Tuesday a draft amended law to the Social Security Law for 2026.
On Monday, the committee launched an electronic platform to receive opinions from citizens, experts, and various stakeholders regarding the proposed amendments to the Social Security Law.
Committee Chairman Andre Hawari explained that the platform was created to collect views, comments, and proposals from subscribers, concerned institutions, specialists, and experts. He noted that the initiative aims to enrich discussions on the draft law and help reach the best possible legislative formulations.
For his part, Mazen Al‑Qadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, called on the committee’s chairman and members to exercise the highest levels of accuracy and objectivity while reviewing the draft law. He urged them to allow space for all opinions and viewpoints and to keep the interests of the nation and its citizens at the forefront of their deliberations.
Al-Qadi affirmed that the parliament will always support measures that serve the country and protect the interests of citizens.
He stressed that the House is currently dealing with a sensitive and pivotal law that touches the core of Jordanian society and is closely linked to social stability. Therefore, he said, it requires a broad and in-depth dialogue that leads to balanced outcomes taking into account the interests of all parties, preserving the rights of contributors, and ensuring the sustainability of the Social Security Corporation.
Al-Qadi added that parliament is facing a major national responsibility that requires carrying out its legislative duties with seriousness and responsibility, carefully studying the draft law and introducing necessary amendments when needed.
