The Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee is visiting the Khirbet Al-Samra Power Plant this Thursday to review its operational performance and current workflow under existing conditions.
Separately, the Parliamentary Labour, Social Development, and Population Committee is scheduled to hear feedback from the Economic and Social Council, political journalists, and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce regarding the 2026 Amended Social Security Law.
The House of Representatives previously approved, by majority, referring the 2026 draft amendment to the Labour Committee following a preliminary reading that featured deliberations and interventions from the heads of parliamentary blocs.
The Speaker of the House, Mazen Al-Qadi, stated that the Council will handle the Social Security draft law with the highest level of national responsibility and seriousness, avoiding any haste or emotional bias. He emphasized that the law would undergo a profound and objective study to ensure the supreme national interest is met.
Al-Qadi further explained that the House of Representatives recognizes that the Social Security Law is not merely a legal text, but legislation tied directly to social security and economic stability, impacting various segments of society.
