The committee is hearing from relevant authorities about the reasons behind the higher fuel consumption rates and the measures being taken to address the issue.

Earlier, the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) confirmed that petroleum products available at fuel stations across the Kingdom comply with approved technical standards. It stressed that the fuel sector is regulated and subject to continuous oversight by the commission, in cooperation with the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization and other regulatory bodies.

The commission noted that heavy traffic and congestion on roads may affect the amount of fuel consumed. It also reaffirmed that the quality of petroleum products at fuel stations is monitored by the commission and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, and that all products must comply with approved standards.
