AMMAN — Saudi authorities on Wednesday allowed the entry of
more than 100 Jordanian trucks that were held up on the border and were loaded
with perishable goods, according to
President of the Jordan Truck Owners Association Mohammad Daoud.
Transport Ministry Secretary General Wesam Al-Tahtamouni said negotiations are
underway, through diplomatic channels, to grant Jordanian trucks an exemption from
Saudi regulations prohibiting the entry of such vehicles with an operational
lifespan of more than 20 years.
