According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Sunday, the visit aims to review legislation, policies, and practices related to the protection of disabled people’s rights and the extent to which national laws align with relevant international conventions.

During the visit, which comes at the invitation of the government, multiple field interviews and tours are expected to be conducted to learn about the government’s efforts to empower and integrate disabled people, and monitor achievements in this regard, the statement added.

The statement noted Quinn will also hold talks with government officials, national institutions, and relevant civil society organizations, as well as representatives of specialized UN agencies operating in the Kingdom.

In this context, Jordan’s concerned authorities will provide data and list practical steps taken to faithfully reflect the quality of services provided to disabled persons and the measures taken to protect their rights.
