The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority stated that, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, it executed a security campaign on Sunday in the Al-Husseiniya and Al-Hashimiya areas in Ma'an. The campaign aimed to remove repeated violations on the main pipeline that supplies drinking water to the residents of Al-Husseiniya and Al-Hashimiya. The stolen water was being used to supply washing stations for cars and trucks passing along the main Amman-Aqaba Desert Highway. During the operation, 35 water tanks, 8 pumps, and 12 illegal 1-inch pipeline connections along the roadsides were detected and removed.

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority explained that as part of the ongoing efforts of the campaign to tighten control over water resources across all regions of the Kingdom, technical teams proceeded to dismantle these violations, which consisted of drawing lines of various diameters. The illegal lines were disconnected, and official violation reports were prepared to initiate the necessary legal actions in this regard.
