Minister of Youth Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan affirmed that Jordan’s hosting of the 24th Asian Karate Championship for youth, juniors, and under-21 athletes reflects the confidence of international bodies in Jordan’s ability to organize major sporting events in accordance with international standards.

He noted that hosting such events contributes to promoting sports tourism and cultural exchange among participants.
Al-Adwan made the remarks while chairing the second meeting of the Higher Organizing Committee and the Media Committee for the championship, organized by the Jordan Karate Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, in the presence of Federation President Hassan Masoud and committee members.
Al-Adwan emphasized the Royal attention given to the youth and sports sectors, as well as the Royal directives aimed at developing sports and youth facilities.
He stressed the importance of integrating efforts and strengthening partnerships among official institutions to ensure the championship is presented in a manner befitting Jordan’s standing in the sporting arena.
He thanked the organizing committee, which includes representatives from the Armed Forces, the Public Security Directorate, the ministries of Interior, Tourism and Antiquities, and Health, the Greater Amman Municipality, the Jordan Tourism Board, Al Hussein Youth City, as well as private-sector institutions, for their efforts to ensure the success of the event.
He also praised the media’s role in promoting the championship through a systematic approach, stressing the importance of using the sporting event to promote Jordan and its sports sector, while highlighting the country’s wealth of tourist attractions.
For his part, Hassan Masoud expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Ministry of Youth, represented by Minister Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, the Jordan Olympic Committee headed by Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, the Public Security Directorate, and other governmental and private institutions.
He noted that the championship, scheduled to take place next September, will feature approximately 450 male and female athletes from 30 countries, with around 119 Asian referees officiating the competition.
Masoud also reviewed the arrangements required to ensure the success of the championship, which will begin next month under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Stadium Security Unit Brigadier General Fadi Abu Khait said that the unit had completed all arrangements to secure the championship, including the venue, accommodation for delegations, and transportation. He added that a plan had been developed in coordination with the Karate Federation to ensure the event’s success.
Assistant Director of Public Security for Operations and Training Brigadier General Sufian Al-Rababah said that, under the directives of the Director of Public Security, Public Security personnel would be deployed to help ensure the championship’s success and present it at a level befitting Jordan.
Head of the Media Committee, journalist Khaled Khattabeh, said that the committee includes experienced and veteran journalists.
He explained that its mission is to deliver an international message that contributes to spreading sports culture, promoting Jordan as a tourist destination, and portraying a civilized image of Jordan through the championship.
