AMMAN — The Mexican ambassador to Jordan,
Roberto Rodriguez-Hernandez, highlighted on Thursday the significance of journalists
and media organizations in bolstering and fortifying the bilateral ties between
Jordan and
Mexico.

The envoy made these remarks during a special ceremony
hosted by the Mexican embassy in Amman, reported Jordan News Agency, Petra. The
event marked the 48th anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He lauded the exceptional and friendly bond that exists
between
Jordan and Mexico, and commended the continuous progress made in
various domains, praising the commitment of the Jordanian press towards
fostering collaboration between media institutions from both countries, with a
focus on enhancing cooperation, information exchange, and shared expertise.
In attendance, the President of the
Jordanian-Mexican Friendship Association, Barakat Awajan, delivered an address emphasizing the
historic and deeply-rooted ties between the two countries, tracing their
foundation back to 1975. He highlighted the importance of the King's visits to
Mexico, which have significantly contributed to strengthening these relations,
culminating in the recent establishment of a
Jordanian embassy in Mexico.
