The meeting covered the outcomes of the recent Jordanian-Iraqi-Egyptian trilateral summit held in Baghdad, and means of translating them on the ground, in addition to the latest regional developments, especially the Iraqi government’s efforts in countering terrorism.

King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s steadfast support for Iraq and its people, in the efforts to safeguard the country’s unity, and enhance its security and stability.

Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.

An Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, was in Amman last month to discuss ways to strengthen brotherly relations to "broader" horizons of cooperation and coordination in various fields to serve common interests.

During the talks, Jordan renewed its support for Iraq’s anti-terror efforts, after Iraqi officials had warned that terrorism was resurfacing in the eastern neighbor and the region.

The two sides met to follow up on the summit at the leaders’ level the month before, followed by a communiqué in which the three the leaders stressed the need to expand cooperation among Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq in energy, industry, agriculture, transportation, food security, infrastructure, investment, construction, and housing.

The joint communiqué stressed the need to adopt the best means and measures to translate the strategic relations among the three countries into tangible impact on the ground.

The partners underlined the crucial role of the Hashemite Custodianship in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Also on Monday, Halboosi held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Abdul-Monem Al-Oudat, covering the trilateral summit results and ways of cooperation at the parliamentary level, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
