AMMAN — A government source has confirmed
that Jordan will dispatch its Search and Rescue Team, operating under the Public Security Directorate, to Morocco in order to provide support for the
ongoing efforts to evacuate individuals trapped beneath the rubble following
the recent earthquakes that have struck the country.
On Saturday, the source revealed that the
Jordanian Search and Rescue Team is fully equipped with the necessary advanced
tools and well-trained to effectively respond to such critical incidents. They
have previously been involved in rescue missions, including those in Syria and
Turkey during previous earthquake disasters, Ammon News reported.
His Majesty King Abdullah expressed his condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, in
response to the tragic earthquake that has affected several areas within the
Al-Houz region of Morocco on Friday.
In his message, His Majesty affirmed
Jordan's unwavering solidarity with the people of Morocco during this
distressing time and directed the government to extend any required assistance
and support.
