A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army stated:
"Border Guard forces in the Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with the relevant military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted two infiltration and smuggling attempts of large quantities of narcotic substances on Tuesday evening."

The source explained that two groups of smugglers were detected attempting to illegally cross the border from two different locations. Rapid reaction patrols were deployed, and rules of engagement were applied, forcing the smugglers to retreat back into Syrian territory. Upon intensifying search and inspection operations, large quantities of narcotics were seized and handed over to the concerned authorities.
The source affirmed that the Jordan Armed Forces will continue to employ all available capabilities and resources to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling, in order to safeguard the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
