Jordan’s Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, announced that preliminary registration for Jordanians and residents of Gaza Strip origin wishing to perform Hajj will open on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Registration will be conducted through the electronic Hajj registration platform and will remain open until Sunday, September 27.
Al-Khalayleh called on those who meet the registration requirements to pay JD200, applicable only to the primary applicant. The amount will be refundable after registration closes, at a date to be determined by the Department of Hajj and Umrah. Companions are exempt from the payment.
The registration fee can be paid through eFAWATEERcom, by visiting a branch of the Jordan Islamic Bank, or through a branch of Safwa Islamic Bank.
He said the requirements for this year’s Hajj season stipulate that the primary applicant must have been born on or before December 31, 1980, and must not have performed Hajj previously.
Those selected to perform Hajj will also be required to obtain a medical clearance certificate from the Ministry of Health confirming that they are free from specified diseases, in accordance with instructions issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The medical conditions include failure of a major organ, such as the heart, lungs, liver or kidneys; neurological and psychiatric disorders that impair cognition or are accompanied by severe physical disabilities; advanced age accompanied by dementia; pregnancy during the final two months or high-risk pregnancy at any stage; active cancer requiring chemotherapy, biological or radiological treatment; and active infectious diseases affecting public health, such as open pulmonary tuberculosis.
Regarding savers with the Hajj Fund, Al-Khalayleh said savers who had accumulated JD3,000 in their accounts before January 1, 2021, are eligible to register through the fund’s electronic platform.
Women wishing to bring a male guardian (mahram) must have accumulated JD6,000 for themselves and their guardian before January 1, 2021, for their registration to be accepted. Alternatively, the guardian must be a Hajj Fund member who meets the same requirements.
Hajj Fund savers are not required to pay any amount at the time of registration.
