Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan issued an official directive on Sunday declaring four days of national mourning across the Kingdom, effective immediately, following the death of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar.
Under the directive, flags will be flown at half-mast throughout the four-day mourning period in honor of the late leader.
The Jordanian government also expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the State of Qatar over the passing of Sheikh Hamad, who died on Sunday.
In its statement, the government prayed that God grant him His vast mercy and forgiveness and extend patience and comfort to his family, the Qatari leadership, and the people of Qatar during this time of mourning.
