AMMAN — The Amman prosecutor general on
Tuesday ordered the driver whose tanker overturned onto the Sports City
roundabout bridge to be detained at Marka Correction and Rehabilitation Center
for seven days, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

The arrest was made on charges of damaging state
properties and funds, driving a public vehicle with a third class license, and
other violations of the traffic law.
Traffic
Department officers sealed the roads leading to the Sports City roundabout,
putting in place a number of traffic diversions until the accident was dealt
with and the tank was eventually cleared from the area.
Waste water leaked from the tank; the Greater Amman
Municipality used water tanks to clean up the area.
An electricity pole also fell and was damaged under the
bridge during the accident.
