AMMAN — An official source at the
Media Commission stated that the latest
Dr Strange has been banned in all cinema
houses in Jordan because it violates the control measure, according to a local
media outlet.

The commission decided to ban the movie because the
film-making company and distributor did not delete the agreed-upon scenes that
go against the morals of Jordanian society.
He added that the decision came in accordance with the
provisions of Article (7/b) of Regulation No.63 on the Control of Audio-Visual
Works in 2004 and its amendments, which stipulates “banning or stopping any
work that violates any of the control basis and terms prescribed in Article 4
of this regulation”.
Other Arab countries have also
banned the movie,
including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait among others for the same reason,
according to the official source.
