According to Jo24, Abu Nasser said that Jordan saw a high turnout of electric vehicles(EVs) imported globally. In total, around 55,000 vehicles were cleared in 2022, 12,000 of those being EVs, he added.

While demand for EVs rose, demand for hybrids fell by 40 percent and for gasoline-powered vehicles by 20 percent. For diesel-powered vehicles Abu Nasser said demand fell by 30 percent.

Abu Nasser pointed out that the decline in demand for gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles may be linked to higher burning prices compared to electric and hybrid-powered vehicles.
