AMMAN —
The managing director of MG Motor Jordan, Mohammad Shaheen, said Monday that
the prices of electric vehicles (EVs) and their spare parts are likely to rise
significantly in the coming years in Jordan, according to Khaberni.
Shaheen
said that because EVs need specific infrastructure, the process of shifting to
EVs may be slowed. He also said that many EU countries have started to turn to
EVs.
Shaheen attributed
the current rise in the price of auto spare parts to the rise in shipping costs
and supply chains disruptions, as well as to the production sector shifting
toward other priorities.
Shaheen said that auto spare parts are imported to Jordan
from EU countries and China, which is the largest source of auto parts in the
world.
