AMMAN — A Cabinet session on Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved the mechanism to disburse fuel subsidy, allocated to National Aid Fund (NAF) beneficiaries, underprivileged university students, and the public transport sector, amounting to JD30 million, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

Under the mechanism, about JD16 million will be allocated to support households benefiting from NAF programs, totaling some 216,000 families.

Meanwhile, about JD4 million are allocated to support underprivileged university students, totaling some 74,000 beneficiaries, and JD5 million are disbursed to support operating public transport means.

Allocation of this gov't subsidy package reduces the global impact of rising oil prices on the cost of oil derivatives.

In addition, the Cabinet decided to disburse gov't subsidies to the eligible categories for six months, effective from July until the end of 2022.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers okayed the mandating reasons for the draft bylaw to form occupational safety and health committees and supervisor appointment in institutions for 2022, aimed to provide worker protection against occupational diseases, improve institutional productivity and reduce work-related injuries and their effects.

The bylaw entails hiring specialists in the occupational safety and health fields to supervise the development of policies, standards, and plans, draft rules, regulations, and technical instructions that should be followed in this regard, and monitor their implementation, in accordance with the latest global practices.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for the amended bylaw for Administrative Organization Regulations of the Technical and Vocational Skills Development Commission (TVSDC) for 2022 and the mandating reasons for the draft bylaw for end-of-service gratuity for employees at the Jerusalem Sharia Department and Courts.
