Azerbaijan’s
Embassy in Amman celebrated its country’s Independence Day, which falls on May
28, said the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Eldar Salimov reaffirmed the strong
Jordanian-Azeri relations and progress achieved in various domains.
He pointed to Azerbaijan’s development and growth since
its independence from the former Soviet Union in 1991. He said Azerbaijan is
progressing towards civilization with a policy based on respecting others and
not interfering in the internal affairs of other nations.
In remarks during Sunday’s ceremony, Minister of State
Ibrahim Al-Jazi underscored the “distinguished relation” between the two
countries, supported by the close ties between His Majesty King Abdullah II and
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
He congratulated
the leadership and people of Azerbaijan on the occasion and wished them more
progress and prosperity.
