AMMAN — On Monday, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh condemned Israeli authorities for installing iron barriers at three gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque: Bab Al-Majlis, Bab Al-Ghawanima, and Bab Al-Hadid, describing it as ‘provocative and a change to the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.’اضافة اعلان

In a statement, he warned against these measures imposed by Israel under the pretext of 'security purposes,' which threatens to besiege Al-Aqsa, restrict entry of worshippers, and exacerbate crowding. He considered it a dangerous and rejected step to impose a new reality at the mosque and its surroundings, recalling fears of a repeat of the 2017 electronic gates idea, Al-Ghad reported.

He viewed these actions as blatant interference by the arrogant Israeli occupation authorities in Muslims' right to pray at Al-Aqsa, whether during Ramadan or throughout the year. Khalayleh also emphasized that prayer at Al-Aqsa is an absolute right for Muslims, and no one can deny them this right, calling on the international community to intervene to stop these violations.
