Walid Al-Masri, has directed all municipalities, joint service councils, and municipal affairs directorates across the Kingdom to raise their state of readiness in anticipation of the unstable weather conditions and the low-pressure system expected this coming Wednesday and Thursday.

Precautionary Measures and Infrastructure
The Minister emphasized the critical importance of inspecting culverts, rainwater drainage systems, and valley streams, especially following the previous weather front. He highlighted several key preventative steps:
Infrastructure Reinforcement: Widening valley streams to ensure smooth water flow.
Property Protection: Using concrete barriers, sandbags, and earthen dams to safeguard facilities based on the specific nature of each area.
Resource Mobilization: Utilizing all available capabilities to protect lives and property.
Minister Al-Masri also called for the activation of emergency operations rooms for the duration of the weather event and stressed the need for continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure a rapid response to any emergencies. He urged citizens to exercise maximum caution and stay completely away from flood-prone areas, valleys, and low-lying regions.
Holiday Greetings and Recognition
The Minister extended his congratulations to the heads of municipal committees, service councils, and all administrative and field staff on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. He praised their tireless efforts in serving the nation and its citizens during both the holiday break and the previous weather front that coincided with it.
Weather Forecast and Risk Assessment
According to the early warning system and meteorological reports distributed to all municipalities:
Wednesday Morning: Scattered rain is expected to begin across various regions of the Kingdom.
Wednesday Afternoon/Evening: The impact of the depression will deepen, with rainfall becoming heavier, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail. The general risk level is classified as "Moderate" for most areas.
High-Risk Zones: Risk indicators will rise in low-lying areas of the Jordan Valley (Ghor), as well as the governorates of Irbid, Ajloun, and Balqa. The city of Aqaba is also expected to experience moderate risk levels by late evening.
Thursday Outlook: Rain will continue intermittently through Wednesday night into Thursday, with the risk index remaining between "Low and Moderate." A special warning was issued for the possibility of heavy rainfall in the Disi municipality within the Aqaba governorate.
