Hamad's achievement marked the second Jordanian karate medal in this current edition of the Asian Games, coming right after Hassan Msarwa's silver medal win on Thursday in the under 75 kg weight category, Al Mamlaka TV reported.

This bronze medal also happens to be the 50th in Jordan's history of participating in Asian Games and the fifth in the current edition secured by Hamad in karate competitions, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee.

Hamad secured the bronze by defeating Saudi player Saud Al-Bashir with a score of 5-2 in the under 60 kg weight category.

His journey began with a victory against Kyrgyzstan's Rafael Akbarov with a score of 2-0 in the round of 16. He then went on to conquer the Pakistani player Hayoun with a score of 8-2 in the quarter-finals. However, he faced defeat in the semi-finals against Kuwaiti player Abdullah Shaaban, with a score of 0-7.

On the other hand, Mona Alderi bowed out of the competition in the under 61 kg weight category after suffering losses to the Chinese player Kong Li and the Cambodian player Van Shakara.

The national karate team's participation in the Asian Games in Hangzhou continues on Saturday, featuring players Joud Al-Daraws, Leen Mansour, Abdulrahman Al-Musaatfa, and Mohammad Al-Jafari.
