27,000 university students to receive grants, loans, following Royal directives

AMMAN — In response to His Majesty King Abdullah's directives, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh instructed Minister of Education and Higher Education Wajih Owais to provide grants and loans to some 27,000 students, who had earlier applied for and did not receive such financial aid, according to the conditions that apply, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The projected payments are estimated at JD30 million, according to Owais who added that the total number of students who meet the conditions to benefit from grants and loans stands at 74,486. Of these, 47,646, or 64 percent, had received approval to get this financial aid, while 26,840 others had to wait this additional time.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will give the names of the 26,840 students who will receive grants and loans, in accordance with the instructions of the Student Support Fund (SSF), Owais said.

SSF, run by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, pays the amounts to applicants who meet the conditions and study in public universities.
