AMMAN — UNHCR provided regular cash aid to about 33,000 refugee families in Jordan in June, including 3,000 non-Syrian families, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

According to a UNHCR report, however, 2,000 families are on the waiting list to receive regular cash aid; they are all eligible for assistance, but do not receive it due to limited funding.

UNHCR-provided monthly cash aid to families helps meet the basic needs of many “vulnerable refugees who are unable to cover their needs”.

UNHCR spokesperson in Jordan Meshal Al-Fayez said that the organization provides families who are most in need of the monthly cash aid, but that this depends on the amount of funding available to it.

UNHCR is aware that many families need this kind of assistance, but it gives priority to those who are “most vulnerable” and in most need, Fayez said, reiterating that UNHCR was unable to include more families on the list of beneficiaries of aid because of its limited funding.
