Make Korean green onion pancakes at home
Ingredients:1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cold water
1 egg
1 bunch of green onions, cut lengthwise into strips
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
Pancake sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce
½ teaspoon sesame seeds
PreparationPlace the flour, salt and black pepper in a deep bowl.
Add the cold water and egg, then whisk the ingredients until you obtain a smooth batter with a moderately thin consistency.
Add the green onion strips to the batter and mix well until evenly distributed.
Heat the vegetable oil in a wide frying pan over medium heat. Pour the mixture into the pan and spread it into a relatively thin, even layer.
Cook the pancake for 3–4 minutes, until the bottom is golden brown.
Carefully flip the pancake and cook for another 3–4 minutes, until the other side is cooked through and crispy.
Remove the pancake from the heat and place it on a plate. Cut it into pieces and serve with the sauce and sesame seeds.
