Jordan's national basketball team began training on Monday in the Japanese city of Nagoya, after arriving there the previous day from the Philippine capital Manila, in preparation for participating in the 20th edition of the Asian Games.اضافة اعلان

The national team held its first training session in Nagoya at Aichi Arena, which is hosting the basketball competitions, under the leadership of Spanish head coach Luis Guil Torres.

The national team's roster for the games was announced the previous day, including players: Fadi Ibrahim, Ahmad Al-Dwairi, Mohammad Shaher, Ahmad Al-Hamarsha, Ruhi Al-Kailani, Amin Abu Hawas, Dar Tucker, Byron Buford, Yousef Abu Wazneh, Malek Kanaan, Yazan Al-Taweel, and Abdullah Olajuwon.

The basketball draw placed the national team in Group B alongside Iran, Chinese Taipei, and Qatar.

The national team is looking to continue its strong showing at the Asian Games, having won the silver medal in the previous edition, held in Hangzhou, China, in 2023, and to compete once again for one of the tournament's medals.

Jordan will open its campaign next Thursday, facing Chinese Taipei at 7:00 a.m. Amman time, before meeting Qatar on September 12 at the same time, and closing out its group-stage matches against Iran on September 13 at 4:00 a.m. Amman time.

Twelve national teams are competing in the men's basketball tournament, divided into three groups: Group A includes Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia, while Group C includes China, the Philippines, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan.
