Julián Álvarez, Atlético Madrid star, is applying heavy pressure on his club's board to fulfill his desire for a transfer to Barcelona.
During his participation with the Argentina national team at the World Cup, Álvarez stated that leaving was his best option to achieve his dream of joining Barcelona, but the Madrid-based club is digging in its heels.

A day after these comments, Álvarez received a stern reprimand from Atlético Madrid owner Miguel Ángel Gil.
"What Álvarez said is deeply unfortunate; the timing is entirely inappropriate for such statements," Gil remarked.
For its part, Catalan newspaper Sport reported that Julián Álvarez feels betrayed, as Atlético Madrid's management had promised to allow his departure if a suitable offer arrived.
The paper added that the player has indeed received a solid offer from Barcelona, which remains Álvarez's sole desired destination.
It explained that the Argentine forward has dreamed of playing for Barcelona since childhood, aiming to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Lionel Messi, with reports indicating that the Atlético striker is prepared to force his way out.
Álvarez's contract with Atlético Madrid runs until the summer of 2030 and includes a release clause of €500 million, placing Barcelona in a challenging position to sign him.
The report concluded that Barcelona refuses to give up and is awaiting a new move from Álvarez to resolve the impasse, hoping to reopen negotiations and present a revised financial offer.
