AMMAN — Al-Faisaly’s football team arrived in Doha on Monday ahead of their clash with Qatar’s Al-Rayyan on Wednesday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, in the opening round of the group stage of the AFC Champions League Two.

The Jordanian side will begin its Asian campaign against one of Qatar’s prominent teams, seeking a positive result that would provide an early boost and strengthen its chances of competing for one of the group’s two qualification spots.
Upon arrival in Qatar, Al-Faisaly held a light training session led by head coach Tarek Mustafa. The session focused on easing the fatigue caused by the journey while maintaining the players’ fitness ahead of more intensive technical and tactical preparations over the next two days.
The coaching staff has also been closely monitoring Al-Rayyan in recent days, studying the team’s recent matches and identifying its strengths and weaknesses. The analysis is intended to help the coaching staff develop the appropriate tactical approach, particularly given Al-Rayyan’s attacking options and players capable of making a difference.
The availability of midfielder Nour Al-Rawabdeh for Wednesday’s match remains uncertain as the player continues to deal with an injury to one of his vertebrae.
Al-Rawabdeh is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation alongside team physiotherapist Shadi Asi, in the hope of reaching the required level of fitness before the match.
According to information obtained by Al-Ghad, the decision on whether Al-Rawabdeh will play will depend on his response to treatment over the next two days. He could be included in the squad, but his actual participation will be determined by his medical condition and ability to play without risking an aggravation of the injury.
Al-Faisaly face a difficult test against Al-Rayyan, who have made a strong start to the current Qatar Stars League season. Al-Rayyan currently sit second in the standings behind leaders Al-Sadd with 10 points.
The Qatari side have played four league matches, winning three and drawing one without suffering a defeat. They most recently defeated Al-Ahli Qatar 3-0 last Friday, providing another indication of their readiness ahead of their continental campaign.
Al-Faisaly are aiming to make a strong impression in the Asian competition and rely on the experience of their players in handling high-level continental matches. Securing points away from home could prove important in the battle for the two qualification places as the group stage progresses.
The Al-Faisaly delegation in Qatar is headed by interim committee chairman Mohammad Hamoud Al-Hneiti, alongside committee members Ahmad Al-Hassami, Abdul Mohsen Al-Maayta, Saif Ajaj and Samaan Hilsa.
The 24-player squad traveling for the Asian campaign consists of Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Nour Al-Din Bani Attiyah, Abdulrahman Al-Talalqa, Hossam Abu Al-Dhahab, Saido Simbore, Muhannad Khairallah, Ahmad Abdul Rabboh, Mohammad Haddad, Anas Badawi, Ihsan Haddad, Camilo Saldana, Aoun Al-Maharmeh, Ghaith Al-Madadha, Wasim Al-Riyalat, Fadl Haikal, Nour Al-Rawabdeh, Ahwa Charles, Salah Al-Yahyaei, Majdi Attar, Amin Al-Shinaina, Anas Al-Awadat, Ahmad Ersan, Malek Allan and Rizq Bani Hani.
The match is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at 9:15 p.m. Jordan time at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. Al-Faisaly are in Group C alongside Al-Rayyan, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Taawoun and Oman’s Al-Nahda.
