Aloush explained in a press statement that imports at the end of 2025 declined compared to 2024, when the value of imports reached approximately JOD 176 million for 1.855 million devices. This reflects an 8% drop in import costs and an 8.4% decrease in the number of devices imported.

He noted that 2024 had shown an increase compared to 2023, with import value rising by 13.7%, from JOD 154.6 million in 2023 to JOD 176 million in 2024, and the number of imported devices increasing by 7.5%, from 1.726 million to 1.855 million units.

Looking at the general trend over the past years, Aloush indicated that Jordan’s mobile device import market has seen a clear decline since 2020, when imports reached JOD 221.3 million, dropping to JOD 205.3 million in 2021—a 7.2% decrease.

The decline continued in 2022, with imports falling to JOD 175 million, a 14.7% decrease compared to 2021, alongside a reduction in the number of devices imported from 2 million to around 1.8 million units.

Aloush emphasized that these figures reflect significant shifts in the mobile device market, both in purchasing power and consumption patterns, highlighting the importance of interpreting these indicators within a broader economic context that considers local and regional variables.
