China, Jordan bilateral trade exceeded $4.4 billion last year— envoy

AMMAN — Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong said Tuesday that China is Jordan’s second largest trading partner in terms of goods, and bilateral trade exceeded $4.4 billion last year, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

On April 7,1977, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the People’s Republic of China formally established diplomatic relations, which opened a new page in the millennia of friendly exchanges between the two peoples.

“We meet online to review the history of friendship between China and Jordan, look ahead to the future of bilateral relations, and draw the outlines of our cooperation” the Chinese ambassador said during a virtual reception held by the embassy on the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and China.

The ambassador added that China is currently the largest country offering human resource training opportunities in Jordan, with more than, 1,000 Jordanians from various fields studying in China or participating in training courses over the past three years.

He added that Jordan is one of the first Arab countries that the Chinese have come to travel to, and the number of Chinese tourists to Jordan has increased significantly in recent years. The Chinese Culture Center in Amman entered the trial operation phase, which will build a new bridge of communication between the two peoples.
