Gold prices fell to their lowest level in nearly three weeks on Wednesday as the U.S. dollar strengthened, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole Symposium this week for signals on the direction of monetary policy.

According to Bloomberg News, spot gold dropped 0.1 percent to $3,313.51 per ounce after reaching its lowest level since August 1.
U.S. gold futures for September delivery also slipped 0.1 percent to $3,355.50 per ounce.
As for other precious metals, silver declined 0.3 percent in spot trading to $37.26 per ounce, platinum rose 0.2 percent to $1,308.90, while palladium fell 0.7 percent to $1,106.83.
