Australian police have charged Navid Akram, the suspect in the Bondi Beach attack, with terrorism, the murder of 15 people, and committing a series of other offenses on Wednesday, following the deadliest mass shooting in Australia in decades.

New South Wales Police stated: “The man will be charged in court with conduct causing death and serious injury, and with endangering lives to defend a religious cause and incite fear in the community.”
In a statement, the police indicated that initial evidence points to a terrorist attack inspired by ISIS, which is listed as a terrorist organization in Australia.
