UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has warned of the ongoing humanitarian tragedies in the Gaza Strip, amid declining international attention and escalating violence.

In a statement published Monday on the official UN agency’s website, Lazzarini said dozens of victims have fallen in recent days, including starving civilians who were killed while trying to obtain food under what he described as a "deadly" distribution system.
He noted that ongoing restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, including UNRWA assistance, continue to hinder relief efforts despite the availability of large quantities of aid.
Lazzarini also warned that a severe shortage of fuel is crippling the provision of essential services, especially healthcare and access to water.
He stressed that continued violence and killings will only lead to further escalation and bloodshed, emphasizing that civilians are the primary victims.
