President Joseph Aoun condemned the recent Israeli attacks targeting towns in the Bekaa and southern Lebanon, including the city of Saida.
He noted that these attacks raise serious questions, occurring just before the scheduled meeting of the UN Truce Supervision Committee, which is tasked with halting hostilities and implementing measures to restore security and stability in southern Lebanon. This includes Israeli troop withdrawal to the southern border, the release of Lebanese detainees, and full deployment of the Lebanese Army, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

President Aoun stated that Israel’s continued aggression aims to undermine local, regional, and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, despite Lebanon’s cooperation and the measures taken by the Lebanese government to assert control over the south of the Litani River, executed by the Lebanese Army with precision and commitment.
He renewed his call for active international intervention to stop Israeli transgressions and enable the Truce Supervision Committee to carry out its mandated tasks with the agreement of all parties and international support.
Throughout the day and into the night, the Israeli military conducted a series of destructive airstrikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa, resulting in multiple injuries and extensive property damage, according to reports from the Lebanese Ministry of Health and security sources.
