In a statement, the Israeli army said it had “struck and dismantled Houthi military infrastructure at the port of Hodeidah,” noting that the targeted assets included engineering equipment used to rehabilitate the port’s facilities, fuel containers, naval vessels used in military operations and attacks against Israel, as well as other vessels in the maritime area adjacent to the port, in addition to what it described as “terrorist infrastructure” used by the Houthis.
The statement further claimed that “the port was being used, among other things, to transport weapons from the Iranian regime, which are then exploited by the Houthis to launch attacks against Israel and its allies.” The Israeli military asserted that it has intelligence on “ongoing efforts by the Houthis to rebuild infrastructure intended for operations at the port,” and confirmed that it targeted components supporting those efforts.
