According to the report, Israeli forces have killed 112 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since the beginning of 2023, a figure twice as high as the deaths recorded during the same period in 2022.

Double the number killed
The report states, "Between January 1 and May 29, 2023, Israeli forces killed 112 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, more than double the number of deaths (53) in the same period in 2022."

Among the fatalities, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

High number of injuries
In addition to the fatalities, the report reveals that a total of 4,296 Palestinians have been wounded during clashes with the Israeli army since the beginning of the year.

According to the report, there have been 409 settler attacks on Palestinians, resulting in damage to 304 properties and 105 injuries.

The report also acknowledges that 18 Israelis were killed and 111 were wounded in Palestinian operations in the occupied territories and Israel during the same period.

Demolished homes and land classification
The report further discloses that 575 Palestinian homes have been demolished since the beginning of the year.

This includes 85 homes in areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority, 239 homes in Area C (under Israeli civil, administrative, and security control), and 251 homes in East Jerusalem.

The Oslo Accords (1993) established a classification system for the lands of the West Bank, designating them as Areas A, B, and C. Area A is under full Palestinian control, Area B is under Israeli security and Palestinian civil and administrative control, while Area C is under Israeli civil, administrative, and security control, constituting approximately 60 percent of the West Bank's territory.
