The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday that the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia discussed the recent Iran-US talks held in Islamabad during a phone call.

The call follows the failure of the talks held over the weekend to reach an agreement to end the war, posing a threat to the currently established fragile ceasefire.
Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that reaching an agreement during a single negotiation session with the United States was "not expected," following the conclusion of the round hosted by Pakistan.
Reuters quoted a spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry stating that while the talks with the United States reached an agreement on several points, disagreements persisted on two core issues, preventing a final deal from being reached.
