Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Wednesday that the strikes launched by his country near urban areas in Gulf states were caused by the relocation of U.S. forces from military bases to hotels inside cities.

The Minister added: "Wherever U.S. forces are concentrated, and wherever their facilities are located, they have been targeted. It is possible that some of these locations are close to residential areas."
Araghchi acknowledged that countries in the region are "resentful and that their populations have been harmed or inconvenienced" by the Iranian strikes. However, he maintained that the entire responsibility lies with the United States for initiating the war on February 28.
