The summit’s deliberations centered on supporting and endorsing the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement to end the war in Gaza, concluded on October 9, 2025, through mediation by Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey.
Participants praised President Trump’s leadership in driving efforts toward ending the war through his peace plan and commended the pivotal roles of Qatar and Turkey in mediation. Leaders also expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts, under President El-Sisi’s leadership, in coordinating humanitarian work since the start of the crisis and for its mediation role leading to the agreement.
The summit highlighted the importance of global cooperation to follow up on the agreement’s implementation and sustain its continuity, including ensuring a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, completion of the hostage-prisoner exchange, Israeli withdrawal, and entry of humanitarian aid and relief into the Gaza Strip. Mediating states’ leaders also signed a document of support for the agreement.
It was also emphasized that consultations should begin on the next stages of President Trump’s plan, starting with issues of governance, security provision, and Gaza’s reconstruction, leading to the political track for a lasting settlement.
Egypt expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the leaders who attended the summit, welcoming the high-level international participation, which reflected clear global support for efforts to end the war. Egypt affirmed that it will continue working with regional and international partners to close this painful chapter in Middle Eastern and world history—one that has deeply tested global humanity, international credibility, and regional security.
Egypt, which planted the seeds of peace in the region nearly half a century ago, pledged to preserve the new horizon for peace born in the “City of Peace,” Sharm El-Sheikh. Egypt will continue working to address the root causes of instability in the Middle East, foremost among them the absence of a just resolution to the Palestinian issue, aiming for a comprehensive and just peace.
The statement affirmed that the Palestinian people have endured unparalleled suffering in modern history and yet have remained steadfast in the face of immense challenges. Egypt reiterated that it will continue to stand by the Palestinian people, supporting their legitimate and inalienable rights, including their right to self-determination and to live in peace and security like all other peoples of the world.
Egypt reaffirmed its support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel on its own land in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, under its legitimate leadership and along the June 4, 1967 lines, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Concluding the statement, Egypt expressed its aspiration to build a Middle East free of conflicts, founded on justice, equality, good neighborliness, and peaceful coexistence among all its peoples—without exception.
