The number of registered internally displaced people across eight Yemeni provinces has risen to 158,109, comprising 23,550 families, amid continued military escalation, shelling, clashes and deteriorating security conditions, according to the latest report by Yemen’s Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps.

The Executive Unit said most displaced families were forced to leave their homes and property suddenly, worsening their humanitarian suffering and increasing their economic vulnerability. Immediate needs include shelter and emergency shelter materials, food baskets, multipurpose cash assistance, clean drinking water, healthcare services and hygiene supplies.
The Executive Unit renewed its appeal to local authorities, international organizations and donors to intervene urgently and mobilize the resources needed to meet life-saving needs and ease the humanitarian crisis facing displaced families.
The report showed that Taiz topped the list of provinces hosting displaced people, with 11,867 families comprising 83,123 individuals, spread across 15 districts.
It was followed by Lahj, with 5,472 families comprising 38,304 people, distributed across nine districts, most notably Al-Mudharabah wa Ras Al-Arah, Tuban and Al-Musaymir.
In the interim capital Aden, the number of registered displaced families reached 3,114, comprising 15,003 people.
In Hodeidah, 1,471 families comprising 10,297 people were recorded in the districts of Hays and Al-Khokha, with new displacement movements from the two districts toward Aden also reported.
Abyan hosted 1,420 families comprising 9,940 people in camps in the districts of Khanfir and Zinjibar.
The remaining displaced families were distributed across Hadramout, with 110 families; Al-Mahrah, with 70 families; and Shabwa, with 26 families.
