Temperatures will rise slightly on Tuesday, with the weather remaining relatively cold in most regions and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds will appear, and winds will be moderate southeasterlies.
Maximum and minimum temperatures today are expected to range between 15–8°C in eastern Amman, 13–6°C in western Amman, 12–7°C in the northern highlands, 16–6°C in the Sharah highlands, 19–6°C in desert areas, 17–8°C in the plains, 23–11°C in the northern Jordan Valley, 26–16°C in the southern Jordan Valley, 25–15°C at the Dead Sea, and 26–15°C in the Gulf of Aqaba.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, temperatures will continue to rise on Wednesday and Thursday. The weather will be relatively cold over high mountain areas, mild in the desert and plains, and relatively warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some high clouds will appear, with moderate southeasterly winds.
On Friday, the Kingdom will gradually be affected by a cold and moist air mass associated with a low-pressure system centered north of the island of Cyprus. This will lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures. The weather will be cold and partly cloudy, becoming cloudy, with rain falling over the northern regions and later extending to most parts of the Kingdom.
During the evening hours, the cold front associated with the low-pressure system will pass, intensifying rainfall, which is expected to be heavy at times in the northern and central regions, as well as southwestern areas, in addition to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Thunderstorms and hail may accompany the rain, leading to the formation of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas and a rise in water levels.
Preliminary analyses indicate that during the late night hours and early Saturday morning, there is a short-lived chance of intermittent snow showers on the high peaks of the Sharah Mountains. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, active with strong gusts at times.
